Gentle sleep training is all about responding to and regulating your baby every single time they cry WHILE helping them build positive sleep associations/sleep habits that will lead to longer stretches of rest (4-12 hours overnight is realistic with my program, along with amazing naps). It’s a 2-3 week process that you can start at any age, I just find it easiest at 3 MO when they aren’t very mobile and are just beginning to form sleep habits. So many times, gentle sleep training looked like cuddling my babies in their bassinet or even dropping in a boob to feed them to sleep in there 🤣 Every time they fell asleep in their own bed, they started to associate it with mommy & safety & sleep. Eventually, I could lay them down at the end of their wake window and they would drift off to sleep without any stress or any help from me, and that’s when they started getting long stretches of night sleep and started taking great naps! Whenever my babies cried, I was right there to regulate them. They just didn’t cry out nearly as often as babies who were completely dependent on their parent to sleep and who woke up confused & disoriented between cycles because the last thing they remembered was falling asleep with their mom or dad. No-tears sleep training is possible with my program & schedules!
