What changed what happens after your internship? And it's not what you think. Your 8-week internship is isn't going anywhere. AI isn't replacing it, and the internship program will still stay. But after the normal 8-week internship ends, EY is adding a remote continuation program of it. It's part-time and supposed to last 8 to 12 months, and they're calling it a career residency. So you keep doing the internship that you would expect, but what you do afterwards is completely different. If you finish residency and get a full-time offer, then you come in full-time, not at the staff level, but actually at an analyst level. So you're supposed to be a bit elevated. The training here is supposed to be a bit more AI fluency, critical thinking, and how to be a better employee. This is happening a lot earlier than you think. The first launch is in January 2028. So if you're still a student in college, this could be your future. Personally, I think this is really interesting because now you're able to come in at an elevated level and you'll probably make more money than entry-level, which is already pretty high, considering the fact that the start of your career is supposed to be a bit more AI fluency, critical thinking, and how to be a better employee. So if you're within your first two years of your career and want to go into big four, this is something that you should definitely keep your eye out for when applications open. And something that everyone should be watching.
