the rumors about becoming a CPA are true If you're thinking about becoming a CPA I have some bad news Unfortunately, the rumors are true Growing up, I kept hearing the same thing CPAs have insane job security, they make great money, and it's the clearest and easiest way to upper middle class lifestyle So I went ahead and did it I joined the big four, they paid for my exam fees, they paid for my test prep materials, and I was able to gain the experience to get licensed fast Then I pivoted into industry, taking a 35% pay jump, but also a better work life balance All that 23 year old was just under two years of experience So if you're thinking about becoming a CPA or setting for the exams, just do it It'll be one of the best decisions you made your entire life
