I traded Houston for the Colorado mountains for a week, and Vail genuinely felt like stepping into a Swiss Alpine town. Vail was designed with European alpine influence, and between the pedestrian villages, chalet-style buildings, Gore Creek and mountains in every direction, it really does feel like a little piece of the Alps in Colorado.
