First time and the last time my husband answered the phone with a tone in his voice was December 2nd, 2023. It's okay to have standards so high they're impossible for most men And I know this because I have the note on my phone that says, I'm sorry. And it's the link to the Louis Vuitton website. If you wanna know more, there's, like, a video in this playlist. I'm not willing to accept any disrespect from anybody in my life, but especially my husband. Like, especially my husband. Husband is somebody that you get to pick. You get to pick the man that you marry and decide that he gets to be in your life. Which means that you also get to decide how much respect you expect from him. You cannot command it. You cannot demand it, but you can certainly expect a certain level of respect from your partner. That means you can also decide how much disrespect you're willing to tolerate. And it's okay if that number is zero. How many people were arguing in the comments that while answering a phone with a tone in your voice is not good, you know, it's acceptable. That is acceptable behaviour, it's not. And this is the thing, you know, so many people wonder over time, like, why their relationship devolves over time. Why is your relationship not as happy as it was 10 years ago? Oh, it's because the honeymoon phase ended. No, it's because the respect decreased and the disrespect increased. In my example, yes, he did buy me a Louis Vuitton, not just because it's expensive, but because that was something that I really, really was into at that time. So for you, you know, maybe it's not Louis Vuitton, maybe it's a scuba diving experience. But the point is that he didn't decide that simply saying sorry is enough and that I should just feel better because he apologized. And if you wanna say, well, then you should just have healthy communication about it. My thing on that is I also don't wanna talk for an hour about him having a tone, I'm also not going to spend my time, like, teaching, reprimanding and going in circles about how that is disrespectful. Like, he either gets it or he doesn't. Not only are you allowed to expect a certain level of respect from your partner, but you also do not have to teach them.
