I've spent my monthly salary on cookware in Japan and this is everything I bought. Let's start off with knives. This is my favourite. It's a Sujihiki Stainless steel created by Baba Hamono. Beautiful. Next, Petty Carbon steel created by blacksmith, Fuji Hamono. I spent about two hours at his workshop and he told me all about his process. I purchased an Akari, a Santoku and a Bunka. And he even gifted me the small carbon steel petty. Next up, ceramics. I visited a shop in Kyoto where the 86-year-old owner took us around and invited us to match with him and his family. Every piece was hand-crafted by him, and I must say it was quite the experience. I went for this bowl and this blue little crane mug. We also got a soy sauce dish and they gifted us some chopstick holders in the shape of thought cute pieces. These pieces were quite expensive but I would say worth every penny. We finished off our ceramics with these cute little plates from a store in Tokyo before a trip to Kama. I also got these little organisers and finally a whisk because I'm sick to death of my whisks falling apart. Hope you enjoyed.
