I forgot how to write code. I've been a software engineer professionally for more than six years. And if you gave me an empty file right now, I would struggle to write a method. I would struggle to write any line of code. I'm rusty. Not writing code every single day. I look at code every single day. I review code all the time. I'm always software, not manually lines writing lines of code. You know why? Because I don't have to. I know how to build software. I know system design. I know bad. I know if a pattern is a good and reason, I have no reason to manually sit down and write code. Do I like this? No. I I liked writing I mean, I know I struggled when I used to do it. It was a love hate relationship for sure. But I miss upskilling and the true a feeling of being a software engineer. And we are kind of robbed from that in 2026. But the good news is this is a really exciting time in tech. And I am a little bit optimistic about where it's going. I don't like it affects the job market. It's drastically. But AI is pretty cool. I mean, the alternatives to hate this stuff. If I learn to use it in a really good way to better my workflow, I could still enjoy technology. Technology has always been fascinating to me. And the tradeoff I choose to make is that although I'm not writing code day, I become tech literate every single day. I become better at reading day. Therefore, software throughout.
