COLD WATER IS NOT THE PROBLEM… BUT IF YOU CRAVE ICE, MAMA, DON’T IGNORE IT! Mama, let’s clear this up. Drinking cold water during pregnancy does NOT cause m1scarriage, cold in the womb, or harm your baby. You can drink your water cold if that’s what you enjoy. But if you find yourself constantly craving or chewing ice, especially if you never used to do it before, please don’t just laugh it off. This strong craving for ice is called pagophagia, and it can be associated with iron deficiency, with or without anaemia. You may also notice things like: Feeling unusually tired or weak Dizziness or headaches Looking pale Shortness of breath, especially with activity Fast heartbeat Feeling weak even after resting But here’s the important part: Craving ice does NOT automatically mean you have anaemia. You need proper assessment and a blood test to know what is going on. And Mama, please don’t start taking iron supplements just because you are craving ice. Speak to your healthcare provider so they can check your blood level and iron status and recommend the right treatment if needed. So yes, drink your cold water. But if you’re constantly chewing ice like it’s a snack… MAMA, PLEASE GET YOUR IRON LEVEL CHECKED. Your body may be trying to tell you something. #PregnancyTips #IronDeficiency #AnaemiaInPregnancy #PregnancyHealth #fup
