STOP calling your C-section shelf “fat” Sometimes what looks like stubborn fat above your C-section scar can be connected to scar tissue and the way your body healed after surgery. A C-section cuts through multiple layers of tissue. As your body heals, scar tissue can form and become tight or restricted. That can affect how the skin and tissue around your lower belly moves, feels, and sits, which is why you may notice that little shelf or pouch even after losing weight. And sometimes there are other factors too, like: ✨ Scar tissue restrictions ✨ Swelling or inflammation ✨ Core weakness or diastasis recti ✨ Changes in posture and muscle function ✨ Normal changes to your body after pregnancy So no, you don’t necessarily need to “lose more weight” to change the way your C-section area looks. Sometimes your body needs healing, movement, and rebuilding, not more restriction. 🤎 Your scar is proof that your body went through something BIG. Give it the care it deserves. 🫶🏾 #postpartum #csection #csectionrecovery #csectionmom
