I wanted to make this one in honor of the Blue’s Clues 30th anniversary. 💙 Steve spent years looking directly into the camera asking us questions. “What do you think?” “What should we do?” “Did you see that?” And as kids, we actually answered him. We yelled at the TV. We pointed at the screen. We helped him find the clues. So I wanted to flip that around for a second. Because now we’re the adults. And maybe we’re the ones who could use somebody sitting across from us asking a question and actually waiting for the answer. Steve has become one of my favorite people on social media for exactly that reason. He doesn’t really talk to us like an audience. Somehow it still feels like he’s talking to the same kids who used to sit on the floor watching him all those years ago. Except now those kids are dealing with jobs, relationships, bills, loss, anxiety, loneliness, figuring out who the hell we are, and wondering how we somehow got this old. And sometimes I think the question we need most is also the simplest one. How are you doing? How are you actually doing? There’s something weirdly comforting about imagining someone from childhood coming back all these years later and saying: You spent a lot of years helping me figure things out. Maybe I can sit here while you figure some things out too. So…consider this your thinking chair for a minute. You don’t even have to say anything. But if you want to: How are you doing?
