Y'all always ask how I keep my blackstone looking brand new! But wait... I messed up 😭 So let me show you exactly how I clean it. But wait, y'all, I messed up today. I went inside to eat my breakfast, left my griddle on uncovered and it's lovebugs season in Louisiana. Yep. Step 1. Scrape off any tidbits. Start by grabbing a good scraper and scraping off all the leftover food and apparently the lovebugs too. Push everything into the grease catch. And y'all, look at this scraper. Disgusting. I'm so ready for these lovebugs to disappear in a few weeks. Next, I grab a dry paper towel and give the surface a good scrub. A little bit of extra friction helps you get anything the scraper left behind. And y'all, look at this scraper. Disgusting. I'm so ready for these lovebugs to disappear in a few weeks. No cold water, use room temp! Not cold water, y'all. I keep telling you. Do not put cold water on a hot griddle top. Bring it down, scrape that dirty water straight into the grease catch and repeat. This saves me a ton of paper towels. Watch the bubbles. Brown = dirty. White= clean. Keep going until all those bubbles are white. Once it's clean, turn your griddle completely off and grab your oil. Step 4. Coat with avocado oil. Spread a thin layer over the entire griddle top and do not forget the sides. Inside and out, they need love too. Normally I finish with my silicone mat, but this is my new eventual ready griddle, and I still need to order one. Save this video for your next Blackstone cleaning and follow me to see more!
