A Houston Vietnamese favorite just opened a new chapter in Upper Kirby Huynh has been serving Houston from its longtime EaDo location since 2008, but the family’s Vietnamese restaurant roots in the city go back even further. With the I-45 expansion expected to eventually displace the EaDo location, the family has opened a new home in Upper Kirby. The menu is still all about home-style Vietnamese cooking, with pho and specialty soups, fresh bánh cuốn, vermicelli and rice plates, plus dishes like bò lá lốt, shaking beef and mì Quảng. My favorites were the Gỏi Vịt (Duck Salad), Bánh Cuốn and the sizzling shaking beef. I also really enjoyed the Mì Quảng with turmeric noodles, pork, shrimp, peanuts and crispy crackers. And definitely finish with the Avocado Coffee. It’s thick and creamy, and once you mix the avocado with the coffee, it somehow tastes almost like pistachio. 📍 Huynh Restaurant 2720 Richmond Ave, Houston, TX 77098 #houstonrestaurants #vietnamesefood #houstonfoodspots #houstonlife
