I’m 58, post-menopause, and I’ve lost 30lbs and no, I didn’t do it by living on lettuce and spending two hours on a treadmill! Honestly, I just kept 5 simple things consistent and I still do them today. I WALK - Every day. Nothing fancy, no Lycra required! Just get your trainers on and MOVE. I EAT PROTEIN - Protein at every meal keeps me fuller, helps maintain muscle and stops me wandering into the kitchen looking for a biscuit every five minutes! I WATCH HOW MUCH I EAT - Healthy food still has calories. You can’t eat half a jar of peanut butter because it’s “healthy” and pretend it doesn’t count. I’ve checked. I DO SHORT WEIGHT WORKOUTS - No hours of cardio for me. I do 20–25 minutes with weights a few times a week. We’ve got other things to do! I PRIORITISE SLEEP - I try to keep a regular bedtime and wake-up time. Because after a rubbish night’s sleep, those food cravings come creeping in. And that’s it. No crazy diets. No punishing workouts. No perfection. I lost 30lbs at 54, I’m 58 now and I’ve kept it off. So if you’re 40, 50, 60 or beyond, please don’t think it’s too late. Start simple. Stay consistent. And if you want realistic weight-loss and fitness tips from someone who’s actually doing it, give me a follow. ❤️
