The Spiritual Awakening That Changed My Life

When I met Rebecca, my then-girlfriend to then-wife, she very quickly introduced me to a spiritual practice. The way she introduced me, by the way, was after a week of dating, she came to me and she goes, look, you're really nice, you have a lot of potential, but you're not the guy for me. I was very surprised at the time. I was living in New York, my sister was the supermodel, we were hanging out, I thought a lot of myself. And I said, what do you mean I'm not the guy for you? He said, well, you don't have a spiritual bent. You're very focused on material things. You want to be successful, but you're not actually understanding the game of life. The guy I'm interested in is going to want true happiness and true fulfillment. And true happiness and true fulfillment does not come from material things. It was so different from anything anyone has ever told me that instead of running away or doing this or doing that, I thought for a second, I said, well, how would one come to explore this spiritual life that you're talking about? And she said, well, you need a practice. And for me, that practice started being Kabbalah, but for all of us, there can be different practices.
