Tap the link in my bio to start the drawing drills course. Try drawing a path moving away from you, then build a series of cylinders along it. As each cylinder gets farther away, make it smaller and pay attention to how its ellipses change depending on where it sits in space. This one exercise makes you think about scale, depth, ellipses, orientation, and perspective all at the same time. You’re training yourself to place simple forms convincingly anywhere in three-dimensional space. And once you can do that with cylinders, you can start replacing them with trees, figures, rocks, buildings, or anything else. Learn the forms first. Then use them to build anything.
