Why it worked

The video uses a 'negative' hook that creates curiosity, which is immediately subverted by the visual satisfaction of the product's unique, high-quality packaging.

Summary

The creator demonstrates the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in a gingerbread scent, using a heart-shaped applicator to scoop the product. The video plays on the irony of calling the product's aesthetic 'the worst thing' because it is too perfect to use.

Product placement

(a) Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask (Gingerbread flavor) ACTS: the creator uses a small heart-shaped applicator to scoop the product out of the jar, demonstrating its texture and the specific limited-edition packaging. Removing this product would remove the entire subject of the video. (b) @laneige_us and @LANEIGE Korea appear in the caption as tags; removing these would not change the video content.
