SIMPLY INA COUNTDOWN, DAY 5 | BAREFOOT AT HOME I realize Jon Snow’s Fish Salad comes from the Jon Snow who owned Loaves & Fishes in Sagaponack, but in my head it’ll always be from Game of Thrones’ Jon Snow - can’t you imagine him whipping this up at The Wall! I’ve always loved tuna salad, but when I began this project, something about “fish salad” just didn’t sound right to me. Thankfully, my determination to make it for the Season 7 premiere of Game of Thrones overrode any lingering resistance. Flash forward nine years, and I’m now obsessed with nearly every kind of fish salad, especially a smoked whitefish salad. Ina recommends halibut, but I’ve always used cod and have never been disappointed. Celery, red onion and fennel give the tender, flaky fish plenty of crunch, while dill, lemon juice, white wine vinegar and capers keep the creamy dressing bright and briny. Two and a half pounds of fish salad may sound excessive, but trust me, it will disappear faster than you think. I especially love serving it on warm, toasted ciabatta, which provides the perfect contrast. 📖: Barefoot Contessa at Home, page 73 #InaGarten #BarefootContessaRecipes #FishSalad #CodRecipe #CookbookCooking
