How exactly do you define BizOps?

How exactly do you define BizOps? Yes, what is business operations? That is my parents still don't know what I do and so maybe I'll send them this. None of our parents do. That's true too. That's true too. So business operations, it is the function that's sole job is to optimize the systems, the processes, and the connectivity within the company to make the company run more predictably and faster. Business operation looks very different depending on the stage of the company and the deliverability of the products themselves. If you're in a B2C company or a B2B2C company versus a true B2B company, your business operations functions are going to look much different as a result. So for myself, I spend almost all of my career in a B2B2C delivery model and I know how they work. I tend to be drawn to businesses that have a very complex post sale, a heavy implementation process because that brand of business operations is one that I know very well. Why do I tell you that? Because business operations in a company like DoorDash where their membership base is their revenue driver versus a company like Salesforce where their business base is the revenue driver is going to look very, very different. In your companies that are loosely Series B through like a small corporate, the best business operation models are centralized but embedded. That's what I love to build. This is my favorite type of business operations in that you have someone like me that speaks the language of all kind of the like people, systems, process across your to your departments. I own revenue operations and the team under that. I own product operations. I own our business insights for the company and then I own some of our kind of our technical writing or CRM or that something. As we scale, my job won't exist anymore and that is something that I am not only aware of but encourage. It's something I bring up that if I am successful, I will work myself out of a 10 out of 10 times and I've done it several times in my career because I will have built an engine that is so effective, I will have built such strong business operations that the job that I was hired to do doesn't exist on the other side. The company has changed, the environment has changed, etc.
