project management to product management part 2 the next thing I would recommend on your transition into product management is to learn the technical skills that you find yourself lacking that could be skills like data and analytics or UX principles or maybe even crafting a vision and strategy for a product the next thing is networking and this is both networking internally and externally so I would definitely start reaching out to people in the biotech field or product managers in the biotech field or whatever field that you're in and while I'm doing that I would also be networking internally and trying to talk to as many product managers internally and then while you're networking with those internal folks just express your interest in product management and just ask them if there's a spot for you on their team or if any spots are going to be opening up soon while you're networking internally with the product management team maybe see if there's anything that you could help them out with that you want to gain those skills in like if that's crafting a vision and a strategy maybe just say like hey the next time you're crafting a vision or a strategy a roadmap for your product do you mind if I just sit in with you and listen to your process so yeah if you have any other questions on the transition from project management to product management or any other transitions from different roles to product management drop me a comment
