Here's why the design of Benji Ball is so important. When I came up with Benji Ball, I wanted the game to be fun looking and easy to play by people of all ages and abilities. I wasn't sure how to design it to cater towards this, so I got to drawing. After lots of different versions, I came up with this current design. I volunteer with the Best Buddies program and the Special Olympics and I wanted to make sure that I designed the game so everyone can play, no matter their age or physical abilities. I love seeing people outside active and having fun. This should be available to everyone. I made the bat lightweight so it's easy to hold, wide so you can get better hits, and a grip built into the handle so it's easy to hold. I made the ball soft so it won't hurt and so even kids can grip it. I wanted the opportunity to work with programs like Best Buddies, the Special Olympics, and the Miracle League to provide more accessible athletics for everyone, and now that is finally happening.
