So if you want your brand to be more successful, I recommend making this one shift. And that is to stop talking about your brand's unique selling points, especially in your marketing. If you've ever followed traditional marketing advice, it's super common to identify your unique selling points and then market those to your consumer. The traditional formats of marketing aren't necessarily as effective as they once were, especially in today's market. I've noticed that a lot of my clients tend to hyper-fixate on their brand's unique selling points, but then when it comes to their marketing, they just rattle off features and benefits when it comes to the product or service they're selling. Your consumers need to feel something different to perceive your brand as different or more valuable in comparison to others in the market. And if you want consumers to feel something different, you can't be surprised when they don't want to buy from you when all you're talking about is facts and features about the product or service you're selling. I always say that getting people to feel something different is actually the greatest differentiator. Because people don't always remember the details, but they will remember how you made them feel. And that's far more memorable than what all your competitors are doing when it comes to how they market themselves.
