This is day one of explaining SEO. One of the best tips is the last one. I'm doing this for business owners who don't have a budget to hire someone like me but still want to increase their local reach and get more leads from their Google Business Profile and their website. Let's start with your Google Business Profile. For most local businesses, especially service providers, this is going to be your bread and butter. So how do you make yours the best it can be? Let's look at somebody who's doing it right. I type in plumbers in Boston and these people are first for a reason. Number one, they have a ton of reviews and they are getting them constantly. 26 minutes ago, two days ago, two days ago. We have a saying in our industry: Google doesn't love you until everybody loves you. Getting tons of reviews often shows Google that you are active, providing great service, and your customers like you. Number two, they have the correct primary category. The amount of times I've worked with businesses that don't have the correct primary category for themselves is insane. And you can select up to nine, so select any that apply to you. Number three, their profile is filled out completely. 364 photos, they have a book online option, address, area served, phone number, appointments link, a description including their keywords. The more you fill out your profile, the better. In fact, there's an option to put your products or services in there and I highly recommend doing that for your business. And number four, they are posting updates constantly. And not only that, these posts include their keywords and location signals. That's one of the best tips right there. Get your location and your keywords not only in your post, but in your reviews as well. I'll see you for day two.
