Their other posts in the index, biggest breakout first.
Let me show you a great example of what not to do on your website and a great example of what you should be doing instead. This is a super simple shift that anybody can do on their website and it will be the difference between somebody hitting your page and leaving after about five seconds or somebody hitting your page, scrolling, bouncing around and eventually buying from you or calling you. So long as you can edit your website, change the content and maybe rearrange the sections. This is well within your reach and will not take a lot of time. Okay, we're looking at two landscaping companies serving the same area. This is the example of what not to do. We got a big, bulky menu with the logo, an image with no text and no call to action. I have to scroll down to even see the first bit of text. And it is a paragraph about the company. If you want to push someone away from your website in the first three seconds, this is exactly how to do it. This section right here is the most valuable and important part of your website and you need to hook people immediately. Okay, let's look at the example of what to do. Here we have the Weed Man. Notice the menu, very small, not taking up that valuable space. There is immediate text and a call to action. They are not telling you who they are, they are telling you what they do for you, the customer, what they do for you, the problem they solve. Their call to action is interesting. It's not contact us today. It's Let's win. Like, we're going to make your lawn stand out. So that first section of your website should not include your business name, how long you've existed. It should include attention grabbing imagery. A tagline or a blurb that speaks to someone's problem or the solution they're looking for. And a clear, obvious call to action. Super simple, not time consuming, but makes a huge difference.
