You have until the 5th of April to claim a free £1,000 from the government. If you're aged 18 to 39, you can open a Lifetime ISA, a type of savings account where for everything that you save, you get a 25% bonus on top of your money. So if you save the maximum £4,000 in one year, you get a free £1,000 bonus and it's completely tax-free. Me and my partner both opened one of these in 2021 and in under three years, we were able to save almost £30,000. You can only use this money for two reasons. Reason one, to buy your first home worth under £450,000, or reason two, for retirement when you turn 60 years old. In my opinion, the Lifetime ISA is still one of the best savings accounts out there, especially for first-time buyers. But just keep in mind, the government is planning on scrapping and replacing it with something else in the next couple of years. What that is, we don't know yet, but when that day comes, anyone with a Lifetime ISA will be able to continue to save and receive the bonus indefinitely from what we understand. Let me know if you have any questions.
