A 17 year old used A I. To build an app from his parents house. He made $40 million in just 12 months and he just sold the app. And this story is a blueprint for what's possible in the A I. Economy. So if you think you need a degree, a team or venture capital to build your own product, this story proves you wrong. His name is Zach Yattagary. And in May 2024 he launched an app called Cal A I. It was a calorie tracking app where you can take pictures of food and it tells you exactly what nutrients are inside. He built it completely with A I. And here's the remarkable thing. He did not train his own A I. Model. He did not hire a team of data scientists. He simply used open A I. And anthropics A P I. And it cost him something like $2,000 to start. In his first month he made about $28,000 in revenue. In month two he made $115,000 in revenue. And by the end of 2024, his app was doing over $1 million in monthly recurring revenue. He had a 17 person team and that was it. By 2025 he had 15 million downloads and monthly gross profit of 1.4 million. And on March 2nd, 2026, My Fitness Pal acquired his app for what was estimated over a hundred million dollars. Now that is obviously a life changing amount of money. So here are my three takeaways from this story for you. The first is that these tools are available to everybody. There's no proprietary technology, there's no licence I P. Literally anyone with agency can go and do this right now. He actually did it while everyone else was just scrolling. And he also knew how to design an app that people would wanna use. Number two is that distribution is the real skill. Building the app isn't the hard part. Anyone can build with any of these vibe coding tools. But his main advantage was his TikTok distribution strategy. He had an effective referral and affiliate system. He had great mechanics for TikTok, and he simply knew how to go viral. And third, age does not matter. Credentials do not matter. Pedigree does not matter. What matters is that you can identify a need that people want and build something for them. Zach said this himself. Entrepreneurship is really cool because at the end of the day, age does not matter. You're either good or not good at what you do and the market will decide. So he started with $2,000 and an A P I. Key, and he sold this company for what's estimated to be over $100 million. The tools and the ways of building companies have never been more accessible. The question is, what are you building?
