Banknotes are being redesigned by the Bank of England. In July 2025, the Bank of England asked the public what they want to see on the banknotes, and I saw some pretty strange ideas. But the results are in, and the winner is nature. That means instead of historical figures like Winston Churchill, you are going to see things like animals, plants, and landscapes. The Bank of England are doing another consultation this summer where the public will have a say on what species go on the notes, but it could be anything from rats and pigeons to poppies and oak trees.
