How did you make your first million? I am the founder of a company called QALO and we created the silicone wedding ring. How did you come up with the idea and how did you grow it? So I got married really young, I got married at 24. I was trying to be an actor in LA and married my wife, met her on a movie set and then realized that all of a sudden I started wearing a metal ring and it was a huge pain wearing it. It didn't make any sense to me. So I went out looking to see if anybody had solved the problem. Nobody had done it yet and so I just decided to do it myself and my goal was just to replace my waiting tables income so I could actually become an actor. How much money did you make on the best year of that? We made around $40 million in our best year. That's crazy. And do you think it's possible to do that nowadays? Absolutely. If I can do it when I started, it doesn't matter what the time is. The right person with the right obsession can do it. How do you do it? Obsession. I think that's the word. I think you have to very much understand the product category that you're selling into. You have to understand how to sell. If you can't sell, nothing else matters. And then beyond that, you have to stay obsessed.
