Their other posts in the index, biggest breakout first.
My therapist ate me up when she told me, try being a sibling to your siblings instead of a parent to your siblings. And the reason why that ate so bad is because I'm an oldest daughter, okay? And you, if you know, you know. As the oldest, you naturally want to be the fixer, the savior. Low key, there's some type of subtle satisfaction in being the person that can save the day and who just understands and just who's so passionate and the person that can defend. You know what I'm saying? Like, you feel good about that. Like, who doesn't love being that type of support system? But when you take a step back and you try to be a sibling, and you and you start to be a sibling to your sibling instead of a parent to your sibling, it'll change the entire dynamic. First of all, it will relieve you and release a lot of stress off of you. You know what I'm saying? Because your siblings also deserve their first, right? Like, I had my first heartbreak, my first moving and move out of an apartment, my first um, crazy situation at work, or my first job experience. You know what I'm saying? The list can go on and on and everybody deserves their first. And who am I to rob someone out of their first? And who am I to step in and play a role the role of God or the role of a parent when I can just be a sibling? You know what I'm saying? And that's a very hard thing to do, especially when you care a lot. I do not play about my siblings. I am belt to ass, excuse my language, about my siblings. And I'm so proud of that. I'm proud to be that sibling for my siblings. But, but, it's like, you just got to consider this. How amazing is it to have somebody that is not a friend, that is not a parent, that your siblings can call and rely on for some good wisdom, some good game, no judgment, or maybe a little bit of judgment, but the judgment is just different. Like at the end of the day, when you know, when it's all said and done, there's love there. My sister loves me. You know what I'm saying? And I feel good about that. But I just had to stop and put this message out because naturally, even not even just with siblings, like naturally, you can be a person that is always just knee deep into someone else's situation or someone else's life and someone else's experience when it's like, you have your own experiences. And yes, you can feel that fire and that passion and desire for your loved ones, for your friends, for your community, etc. But like, you got to make sure you okay, and you got to make sure you hold space for them, but it's just space. It's not like your entire mind, like you know what I'm saying? Because that is taxing after so long. You know what I'm saying? Especially when God got it at the end of the day. Like, let God be God, you be the sister, you let people be people, and yeah.
