So the first exercise that I no longer do is the seated overhead shoulder press. The dumbbell variation. The problem is when you get stronger and lift more weight, it gets increasingly more risky getting the weight from this position to this position. And I've actually injured myself a couple of times around the left trap region from trying to lift a 46 kilogram dumbbell up over my head by myself. For example, if I'm training alone and this is like realistically what I would be able to press, getting this from here up into this position is just way too risky these days. The chances of me getting away with it in my 20s were a little bit higher, but I didn't get away with it completely because obviously I injured myself. If I don't have a spotter, what I'll tend to do is replace it with other exercises where there's a lot more stability involved and there's no risk of injury actually getting into the starting position.
