Hook
3 things I wish I knew at 20 rather than at 31. Someone who has now got six figures invested, but who used to be pretty dumb with money. 1. 100 pounds into a stocks and shares ISA and keep doing that every month. I know it seems small and insignificant, but it can grow to big things. If you've seen any of my videos on compound growth, you know how big that can get. It can make you millions if you start young. 2. Learn how credit cards work. If you don't pay off the full balance, they will charge you interest on all of it, even the stuff you've paid back. So for example, if you borrow 1,000 pounds in a month and you pay back 999 pounds of it, but don't pay back that final 1 pound, they will charge you interest on the 1,000. I learned this from Martin Lewis and this shocked me, but I think most people don't know this about how credit cards charge interest. 2. Spend some money that you get to spend on yourself and enjoy it. You want to foster a good relationship with money and that means spending some of it.
