The Dot Cakes going viral is proof that a product has to be able to market itself. So these $11 mini dot cakes are going viral on social media. It's gone viral because everyone's obsessed with seeing what's underneath the sprinkles. People are waiting in hour long lines to try these dot cakes. And why this is so interesting is this product was designed to blow up. This brand doesn't post a ton on social media, but they started selling in a New York City grocery store, Brookfield Place, and they blew up. Because they were so interesting on the shelf, people wanted to try them and then make a video about them. The sprinkles on top of these cakes are honestly just a simple thing, but it's making everyone feel the need that they have to try them. And The Dots Cakes has done very little marketing. It's just a really cool product that did its own marketing. Now I imagine cake shops across the country are going to copy this. So I don't know how long this will be unique, but it's definitely worth thinking about how your product can do its own marketing. Now, what do you think of the Dot Cakes blowing up on social media?
