pov: you get asked "can you sell me this pen" in your sales interview

Can you sell me this pen? Yeah. So before I sell you anything, can I ask you a couple of quick questions? Sure. So think about today. Did you use a pen at any point? Uh, yeah, this morning actually. Okay, nice. Do you know where that pen is right now? Honestly, no clue. Okay, fair enough. Is that a one time thing or are you someone who constantly loses your pens? Constantly. I buy them and they disappear all the time. And when you can't find one, what usually happens? Well, I either steal one from someone nearby or I end up buying a whole new pack. Okay, so it's not really the cost of the pen, it's more of the annoyance and wasted time. Yeah, exactly. Okay, got it. And last question, if there was actually a pen worth buying that fixes that problem, what is the most you'd realistically spend for that? It's probably around eight or nine dollars. Okay, so let me play this back a little bit. You use pens pretty regularly, you lose them more than you'd like, and replacing them is annoying enough that it keeps happening. So imagine a pen with your name engraved, a clip that actually stays attached to your notebook, and ink that is smooth enough that you wanna keep using the same one instead of grabbing random pens. And it's only $8. So is one small purchase meant not having to hunt for pens everyday? Would that be worth trying? Honestly, yeah, I think I'd buy that. Okay. Genuinely would not have made it through that interview without doing the sell to the wolf challenge with Jordan Belfort everyday.
