I have logged over 400 movies on Letterboxd and only five of them have I given a half star. Here is that list. For context, I very rarely give out a star rating. It's either a five star, a half star, or a heart. I'm not really doing anything else. So for me to give a movie a half star, it had to have pissed me off beyond belief. Let's start out with the movie that killed Star Wars, The Rise of Skywalker. I hate this movie for ruining my childhood and my favorite childhood franchise. Next up, I've got Justice League. I don't know what's worse, the movie itself or the behind the scenes of how this movie came to be. I probably didn't have this as a half star when it initially came out, but after the Snyder cut, after falling in love with the cyborg arc in that movie, I dropped this bad boy to a half star. It is so distasteful. I will never forget seeing Halloween Ends on opening night being so excited for the final battle between Laurie and Michael and watching 150 people get disappointed in real time. I'm not a Halloween super fan, but I can acknowledge that movie fucking sucked. I can only imagine what it feels like for them. You know how I said the Rise of Skywalker killed Star Wars? Well, there's a show that buried Star Wars and that's Obi-Wan Kenobi. This is the only show that I've logged on Letterboxd and I only logged it because I was so frustrated at the time. There is only one great scene in a six episode dumpster fire of a show. When Vader's mask is split in half, you see Anakin's face, you see Hayden Christensen and he has that moment with Obi-Wan. That is great. What the fuck were we doing for the first five episodes? This would have been an awesome movie, but Bobby Iger and Mickey Mouse wanted to promote Disney Plus. And finally, this movie is way out of left field and has no correlation with the rest of the movies, but Last Voyage of the Demeter is legitimate dog shit.
