The Boys has lost ALL of its sauce

I just watched the latest episode of The Boys and it frustrated me so much that I brought the pen and paper out to rant. I think this is the most tasteless season of television, tasteless comic book project since Batman and Robin. You know what, that's actually doing Batman and Robin a disservice because at least the set pieces, the costume design, everyone cared about making that project. It was just the corporate heads wanting to sell toys at the same time. With The Boys, there's no great production quality to distract us from lazy writing, non-existent character development, and promoting their new prequel show, Vought Rising. We are two, two episodes away from this show being over and we're pushing Bomb Sight. Who the fuck is Bomb Sight? Oh, that's right, he's going to be in the prequel show. And I can guarantee you this character was not brought into the show because they thought that we were going to love Bomb Sight. No, they are testing Bomb Sight to see just how many seasons of Vought Rising this guy can be in. Soldier Boy's character in this season should also be a dead giveaway that they're just trying to promote this new prequel. I implore you to go on YouTube, watch any season 3 clip with Soldier Boy and the comment sections will talk about how he was the only one in the show who stood his ground, who didn't change his mind. Dude, this guy's been a fucking seesaw for the plot the last six episodes. No one can convince me it's character development or good writing. It is truly just to move the plot forward to get Homelander, spoiler, the V1. You know what, forget Soldier Boy. I'll give you a better example of bad writing. The absolute worst and most frustrating character assassination is what they did to Sister Sage. This is supposed to be the smartest person in the world and she left Homelander getting the V1 up to chance? Her reasoning for calling Soldier Boy was because people are predictable? That's the other thing. Since season 3, this show has only wanted to do three things: get Butcher powers again, it took the entirety of season 4 for that to happen. Again, spoiler warning for this season, but they wanted to make Homelander immortal, it took what, six episodes of this season for that to happen. And the third and final thing we haven't gotten it yet, it will probably happen in the finale, but Butcher versus Homelander. Other than that, they have had no idea what to do with any of the other characters and they have had no idea how to get to those three things over the course of two seasons. This show is limping to the finish line and honestly, I just want to get this thing over with.
