I have 21 movies that I have rated five stars. Here is that list. Let's kick things off with an underrated 90s gem in Deep Cover. I really don't want to say much about this movie. I think you should go in blind and have an absolute blast. It's young Laurence Fishburne, young Jeff Goldblum, directed by Bill Duke. It's a great movie. Give it a shot. I have seen Whiplash probably 15 times. I watch YouTube clips of this movie all the time, yet every single time I watch the movie again, it feels like I'm watching it for the first time. This movie is magic. Next up is the perfect who done it in Knives Out. All three are great, but the first one is the best and is the only five star. What can I say? Rian Johnson knows how to direct a movie. Not only do I think Across the Spider-Verse is the best Spider-Man movie, not only do I think it is the best comic book movie, I think this is one of the best movies I've ever seen, period. I saw 2001: A Space Odyssey on the big screen and it was absolutely magical, but there was only one Kubrick movie that could trump that experience, and it was The Shining. If I were making a list of some of the scariest movies I've ever seen, I think The Lighthouse cracks the top 10. Call me an old head, call me a raisin, call me a grandpa. I think 12 Angry Men is the best movie of all time. I cannot understand how this movie has not been on the rewatchables yet. Sean, help me understand. Next up, I have Christopher Nolan's best movie. And no, it's not The Dark Knight. No, it's not The Prestige, although it's close. Give me Dunkirk. Tapping off this stretch of four is my favorite horror movie of all time, The Thing.
