Levi's didn't accidentally go viral with their World Cup stadium stunt. And that's the part most people are missing. Because this was actually straight out of their reactive marketing playbook and this is the way that social first brands need to be moving in 2026. So a couple years ago when Beyoncé dropped Cowboy Carter, Levi's immediately changed their profile icon to match her spelling with two I's. The move went crazy earned viral buzz both in mainstream media and online. But Levi's didn't just move on. They noticed that playing with something as sacred as a brand logo can make a serious statement. So they saw them take a yes and improv style marketing continue story and so them launch a shirt with it and a cool animated post to go with it. And this all cascaded into formal collab and costuming for the Cowboy Carter tour. So when this whole World Cup stadium opportunity came up, to be clear, they are so smart for recognizing it as an opportunity. They knew exactly what to do and they took this David versus Goliath approach with a super low fi social post and an updated profile icon to match. I bet probably that soon we're gonna see t-shirts with that same icon on it. Let me know what you think about Levi's run lately and if you like marketing breakdowns like this, my name is Sam, follow along for more.
