What do you say when someone asks what do you do for a living? It happens all the time. It'll probably happen later on today. The chances are you're gonna answer it the same way as everyone else. I'm an accountant, I'm a pilot, I'm a store owner. I rob banks for a living. Although that would be interesting. Here's the brutal truth. No one actually cares when you answer that question like a walking LinkedIn profile. I've got this very simple formula you can use to sound much more engaging and interesting when asked that question. And it's this: I help people who struggle with X, so that they can be Y. In other words, I help leaders who struggle to get their message across so they can walk into any room and own it. Or I help people who struggle to sleep so that they can wake up feeling themselves again. Or I help small businesses that struggle to be visible, become the obvious choice in their market. It's just an engaging, interesting answer and memorable way to answer that question. Because no one buys what you do, they buy what you solve.
