Did you know there's a secret formula to create a story that works every single time? This formula basically comes from Hollywood movie makers. What makes a Hollywood movie a blockbuster? A novel, a page-turner? What keeps your glued to your seat in the cinema or theatre? Well, there's a bunch of rules that these professional storytellers use. What I've done is repurposed that, so that you can use it in your business. Now, the six part formula. Number one, who's the hero? Your story is never you, it's your customer or your prospect. Number two, is the mission. What that hero is on? What are they chasing? What matters to them? Number three, what's in the way? Who's the villain? What's the obstacle? Something is stopping your customer, your audience achieving what they are seeking. Number four, the guide. Who is the mentor, who's the enabler, the facilitator? That's you. Your brand. Number five, the journey. What is the journey that you take them on? Rising and falling tensions. Three steps. What are the three steps that you take your customer through to achieve their mission? Number six, and the final one, the resolution. Not just a happy ending, but the higher purpose. What is it that your brand stands for? That is maybe bigger than you and bigger than your customer. Those six things together create and life. My name is Chris Hewitt, storyteller here at Berkeley Communications. Follow me for more tips.
