Hook

Some people ask for updates on my little brother and honestly, he's doing so bad up in the prison. Like he is doing 25 to life right now because he took someone else's life and he's sitting there drinking and getting tattoos and like I'm to the point where I can't even talk to him anymore. Like I don't even want to speak to him because I'm so disappointed in him. And in a way like a lot of people say like, oh, well, it's hard to stay on a good path in there because everyone else is doing the wrong thing. But it's like at what point are you going to have your own brain power and do your own thing and take charge of your own life and like feel actual remorse for what you did? And I feel like he's just in there having a fun. Like if I was the victim's family and I lost my sister, because we lost our sister, like our sister took her own life, but what if someone would have taken her life? And how would we feel? And we would never want that person out. And like, and if they are going to get out, they better be rehabilitated, but he's not doing that. And it's so hard for me as an older sister to want to be here for him and want to support him because there's nothing to support. Like he took someone else's life, now he's in prison and he feels like he should be able to get out, but I'm like, for what? Like could you were 18 and you did a crime and you felt like you were young enough to the point where you didn't know what you were doing? You want to blame it on like your age, but at the same time to pull a trigger, like you got to know what you're doing. Like you don't just pull a trigger and like, oh, woe is me, I don't know what's going on. Like you took someone's life and that upsets me so bad because I want to be there for him, but it's to the point where I'm just like, I feel like he's unhelpable. And I don't know like many people who also go through the same thing of like having an incarcerated sibling because like I just like personally want to give up on him. Like I'm tired of it. Like and it's so exhausting because I'm like, all he does is like think about himself in there, but I'm like, you don't just wind up in prison one day. You don't get like selected, like it's the fucking draft. Like you have to do something to go to federal prison. And he did something and now he's in federal prison. And he acts sometimes like he's just confused why he's in there. And I'm like, you did like the worst crime that you could possibly do. And I don't know. That's just where I'm at with him right now where I'm to the point where I'm going to have to tell him like, hey, I got to step back and like take care of my own family and worry about my own shit because like the drinking thing, I'm over it.
