The most effective marketing secret we ignore is in the church. If you can study the growth of the church and apply the same strategy to building your business or brand... You will succeed faster. #careeradvice #marketingtips #entrepreneurship #motivation #fyp (00:01) The most effective marketing secret in the world is in the church. Yet Christians go to church every Sunday, Sunday only to businesses on Monday to continue struggling with sales. Meanwhile, they left the sales secret in the church. (00:15) If you're an artist, entrepreneur, or business owner, I want you to pay close attention because I'm about to open your eyes to something you don't know. Listen carefully. (00:24) This is a $1 million dollar advice. (00:26) Jesus told his followers, "go into the world, preach the gospel, and make people my disciples." (00:33) Think about that. The first assignment was not selling, the first assignment was expansion, growth, and conversion. And that is marketing, community building, and building a loyal following. The difference is you are not doing it. People are actively, and freely doing this. (00:54) So the question is, how can you get people to market your brand freely, just like the disciples of Jesus? (01:01) The biggest mistake most businesses make is they build a product, then immediately for customers. But let's learn from the church. The church first build believers, then the believers become customers, not just customers, but advocates. (01:18) Now, let me picture this. (01:20) A pastor stands on the altar every Sunday. He teaches, he inspires, he answers questions, he gives hope, and he does that consistently week after week, month after month, year after year, and slowly people begin to trust him. (01:37) Now, here is the interesting part. After trust comes influence, and after influence, people are willing to buy his books, attend his conferences, watch his TV channels, and support his projects. (01:51) Some churches sell devotionals, some sell anointing oil, some sell branded materials, some sell educational resources, and some sell paid conferences. (02:01) Whether you see this primarily as ministry resources, fundraising, or both, one business lesson here is difficult to ignore. (02:09) People easily buy more from the people they trust. That is not just marketing, that is human psychology. (02:15) Now, let me tell you something you don't know. Many entrepreneurs wake up morning asking, "how do I make more sales?" But the better question should be, "how do I become trusted for people to buy from me?" (02:24) Because trust sells better than advertising. (02:27) The smartest organizations don't build audiences, they build communities. (02:31) An audience watches you, a community defends you. An audience listens, a community invites others. An audience consumes, a community contributes. (02:43) That is why the people who bring new members to the church members, the community becomes a marketing department, and that is one of the cheapest and most growth strategies in history. (02:52) Now ask yourself this question: Are your customers bringing customers or you are the only one promoting your business? (02:59) Because if you are the only marketer, you have not built a community yet. (03:03) You need to build yourself to a level where your customers are bringing in more customers. That is what we call word-of-mouth marketing. (03:10) Now let's use Bishop David Oyedepo as a case study because I've told Christians time and time and time and over again, if you truly want to be successful in business, study Bishop David Oyedepo. (03:21) He's not just a bishop, he's a business strategist. And if you can adopt his business strategy, your life will never remain the same again. (03:28) He started with a church, built his audience. His audience became believers, and those believers became the vehicle to drive other businesses. (03:37) And he didn't stop at weekly services. He expanded into publishing, education, development, media, and universities like Covenant University and Landmark University. (03:49) That is a strategic expansion. (03:52) Canaanland is not just a church. Canaanland is a business venture. (03:56) I've worked there for years. And while I was there, I was not seeing what other people were seeing. I was not seeing religion alone. I was seeing a man who understands business more than anyone else. (04:07) Bishop David Oyedepo didn't ask, "how do I build a bigger church?" But, "how do I solve more problems for the same community?" (04:14) That is exactly how many successful businesses grow. (04:17) Now here is the lesson I want you to learn from this. (04:19) The church doesn't just spread information. It spreads identity. (04:23) People don't simply say, "I attend a church." They say, "I am a Christian." (04:28) Notice the difference. One describes activity, the other describes an identity. And identity is one of the strongest forces. (04:36) People defend their identity. They invite others into their identity. And they invest in their identity. (04:42) That is why many believers are defending their spiritual leaders even when they are wrong. (04:46) The strongest brands in the world understand this. That is why they don't sell products, they give people a way to describe themselves. (04:53) So before you start a business, before you build a career, always look for someone an expert in marketing. (05:01) Because that will save you from making the same mistake a lot of businesses have made. (05:05) And you can also send me a DM marketing strategies, and I will guide you on how to market and position your brand. (05:10) Now, let me leave you with one final thought. (05:12) Most entrepreneurs are trying to build customers. Organizations build believers. (05:16) Not necessarily believers in religions, but believers in an idea, believers in a mission, believers in a purpose. (05:24) Because once people believe in what you stand for, selling becomes easier and customers become your marketers. (05:31) So before you ask yourself, "how do I make sales?" Ask yourself a more important question: What do people believe after they encounter my brand? (05:39) Because products are bought, beliefs are defended. And once your brand, your customers become your marketers.
