I was about to leave the shelter when I walked by this kennel...

Her name is Shatzi … The other day, I was about to leave the shelter when I walked past a kennel and saw this beautiful German Shepherd sitting quietly on her bed. She had the saddest eyes. 🥺 When I looked at her kennel card, my heart broke even more…😭💔 Schatzi is 10 years old and weighs only 35 pounds. You can feel every rib on her body, yet despite everything she’s been through, she is one of the sweetest, gentlest dogs I’ve met. She takes treats so softly and even knows how to sit. I took her outside hoping I could brighten her day. I tried giving her toys, but she wasn’t interested, so I simply sat with her. I pet her, reminded her what a good girl she is, and told her that she deserves so much better than a shelter kennel. After a little while, I finally saw it… a smile... It reminded me that she hasn’t given up… 🥹❤️‍🩹 I ptomised her I would share her atory with the world, and together we would find the perfect family for her… a nice home and a comfy bed where she can spend her golden years surrounded by love, comfort, and the warmth she deserves… 🙏🏻😭❤️ #gsd #germanshepherd #senior #dog #story
