❤️ IT’S MAX’S FREEDOM RIDE ❤️ I don’t even know where to begin with this one. 🥹 When Max came into the shelter at 14 years old, needing to be the only dog in the home, I knew finding him a home would be difficult. I posted his video hoping someone out there would choose him, but honestly, it seemed almost impossible. But somehow, his person found him. His name is Bill. When I met Bill in the lobby, I already had tears in my eyes. I went to shake his hand, and he gave me the biggest hug. We both had tears in our eyes. I thanked him and told him how happy I was to meet him. Then Bill told me something I will never forget: “I am a senior, just like Max. I don’t know how much longer we have in this life, but I do hope we can spend some time together.” Bill called me today with an update. They got stuck in traffic, and after a 12-hour drive, they made it home around 1 AM. He drove a total of 21 hours! Bill didn’t even have a GPS. He printed the directions and drove all the way home following them. He was determined to get Max home. Max was wonderful in the car. This morning he was fast asleep, and Bill sent me the sweetest picture of him sleeping peacefully in his new home. He has already been enjoying his fenced-in backyard and is doing so well. He is the only dog and will be VERY spoiled. ❤️ Max is home because so many of you came together and shared his video. This is what happens when we don’t give up. Sometimes you wonder who will come for the dogs who seem the hardest to place. And then someone like Bill walks through the door. Sometimes, even when it seems impossible, the person you’re dreaming of is already on their way. Welcome home, Max. You were worth the wait. ❤️ And Bill… thank you for choosing him and showing all of us that there really is someone out there for every dog. �
