GRWM while i reveal comments

Let's rate comments my Indian relatives have said to me. First up was being told that I have quote unquote "blackened" during the summer. My mind you, every auntie who said this was the same color as me. I was in marching band for all four years of high school, so I was outside all the time. Getting darker is not a bad thing! And in times where entire days scrolling on their phone, I think it's a great thing that I got a tan from being outside playing music with my friends. Next up, we have a common one, which is being told that I dress like a slut, whore, or stripper. I will say this one affected me a lot more when I would visit in India and I would stay with relatives. I literally would not be allowed to leave the house unless I wore what they told me to. Now that I'm an adult and I've moved out, my mom gets a lot of calls from aunties and grandmas literally calling her to tell her to correct me because of what I'm wearing online. If you have something to say, just say it to my face. I choose to take it as a compliment every time someone has something to say about what I'm wearing because that means the outfit made a statement. New comment unlocked. This one's a new one. I've wanted to move to the East Coast for a long time and I'm moving to New York City at the end of the summer. And the number of different relatives who were calling to tell me to just stay at home is mind-boggling. An unmarried young girl moving anywhere by herself is practically a war crime. I remind them that my dad did the same thing. He also moved unmarried when he was younger, across the world. They only care because I'm a woman.
