The iPhone Air had two major problems. But Apple's about to resolve them. The iPhone Air has some good qualities. It's the thinnest iPhone ever made at only 5.6 millimeters with premium titanium and an A19 Pro processor. But it's hard to overlook these glaring issues. It only has a single rear camera and while that 48 megapixel sensor is fine, it lacks an ultra-wide camera for those wide-angle shots and a telephoto lens for the close-ups. And the battery capacity is subpar for a 2026 phone. It only has 3149 milliamp hours. So with a 6.5 inch screen, Apple intelligence features running, you might not even get a full day's use out of it. Which is why Apple had to make a whole MagSafe battery pack for $99. Now this defeats the purpose of getting a slim phone. The good news is, according to current reports, Apple's expected to tackle these issues in the iPhone Air 2. They're going to be adding a second rear camera lens, which will most likely be an ultra-wide lens. So while you won't get a telephoto lens, this ultra-wide camera will also have a 48 megapixel sensor. We're also expecting to see a significant battery capacity jump to 3500 milliamp hours. Hopefully this will eliminate the need to get that extra MagSafe battery pack so you can have a slim iPhone. The price of this phone would go up from the $999 price point if Apple keeps the Pro processor and the same amount of RAM or it might decrease a little bit if Apple goes with a basic processor and a little less RAM.
