Apple just dropped the ability to play DVDs in MacOS 27. If you still have a DVD or Blu-ray collection, here's a hack you can use to still play them on your Mac desktop or MacBook! So if you weren't lucky enough to get the MacBook Pro back in 2012 and hold on to it, which was the last MacBook with that super multi-drive, here's what you could do. You don't need to let that massive DVD collection go to waste, and honestly, they're making a comeback because a lot of streaming services remove some of the movies that you might want to see. You could go to almost any marketplace like Amazon and just search for external DVD drive that's compatible with Mac OS, and make sure it has the USB C interface if you have a newer MacBook or USB type A interface if you have an older MacBook. And even better, there are some that have both interfaces. And after you plug it in your MacBook, all you have to do is download and install a third-party player that could decode and play DVDs. I recommend VLC Player because it's free, open source, and it works well. You could even play Blu-rays, but just make sure you have a drive that supports it. So do you have a collection of DVDs and Blu-ray discs or did you completely move to streaming services? Let me know in the comments below. Like & follow for more.
