WHEN YOU DUPE,

Yeah- we need to talk about this. This video has opened a lot of good discussion around product development! Are CT products incredible? Absolutely! BUT- that doesn’t mean affordable products can’t be the same quality, if not better. Every brand carries different overhead. With a brand like CT, their overhead is SIGNIFICANTLY higher than smaller brands. Having said that, it costs roughly the same to make a product regardless of the size of your company. Actually- most of the time, bigger brands can make products for a cheaper price due to volume discounts with manufacturers. To say that products from other brands can’t give the same experience if factually incorrect. Sure, the branding is different- but the performance can absolutely be the same. I completely understand her frustration, as her brand is one of the most duped brands in the beauty industry. However, consumers are intelligent, and they know the reality of the product quality vs price. Consumers aren’t being “duped” when buying product dupes- they’re well-informed, and making the decision that suits them best! There’s nothing wrong with shopping affordable or luxury- what a consumer decides to spend their money on is up to them. As brand founders, I think it’s important to understand that there’s room for everyone. Yes, it’s annoying when you’re being copied, but on the flip side, that just means you’re doing something right! What do you guys think? #charlottetilbury #productdevelopment
