You know, it's really interesting. So many people act like good people leaving is some big mystery. It's not. When a good person quits, there's almost always one person they were done dealing with. The one who takes the credit, spreads the poison. It makes every day harder than it needs to be. And the thing is, everybody knows who it is. Hell, leadership knows. They've known for a long time. But that person, the problem, they stay every time. Why? Because dealing with them is uncomfortable. It's a hard conversation. Nobody at the leadership level wants to have. So instead of fixing the one damn problem, they just let your best people walk right out the door. And here's that part that you that's mad. That's a choice. Every good person left, somebody decided the difficult one was worth keeping more than they were. That's not luck. That is just a fucked up decision. I've watched the good ones leave one by one and wondered what's wrong. Nothing broke by accident. Somebody's protecting the reason they are all leaving. Because you never lose good people by accident. You lose them by the person that is actually driving them out.
