no I hear you and I totally agree in every broken company the worst person in the building is normally the safest person in the building the one doing the most damage is the one nobody in charge and here's what makes that worse management knows who it is hell everybody knows who it is the whole floor knows and shit you have new people walking in they figured it out within a week it is the worst kept secret in the building and still nothing ever happens so the question becomes why why does the person causing all the damage get to stay untouched and the answer is almost always the same touching them cost somebody upstairs something addressing the issue means that someone has to be accountable and hold that person accountable which means that a hard conversation is going to have to take place it's an admission that they hired wrong they promoted wrong or they protected this person far too long so the whole team gets sacrificed someone in management doesn't want to have to sit in a little bit of discomfort that's the real crime of it Every good person who walked out the door got weighed against the one untouchable and the untouchable won every single time leadership watches their best people leave and they do nothing about it because if they did something that means that they would have to sit in discomfort for an afternoon here's what the sharp ones they stop waiting for management to fix what leadership already decided that they're not going to fix that they're not going to address they keep a record of what that person actually does the specifies the dates that was left behind they're not doing that right but when the moment finally comes it's not going to be that one person's word they will have documented a pattern nobody can actually wave away see the people who see the untouchable clearly are never the problem they are the only ones honest enough to say that the damn building is on fire
