Marmalade was brought to the shelter on March 31 after a family found her wandering the streets. They kept her for a couple of weeks, hoping they would be able to find her owner, but nobody ever came forward. Since they couldn’t keep her, they brought her to the shelter. They said Marmalade got along wonderfully with their children and with other dogs. Ever since that day, Marmalade has sat in her kennel day after day, week after week, month after month. She has watched countless dogs leave the shelter. Puppies, other breeds, dogs that arrived long after she did. Yet nobody has ever asked about her. And that is hard to understand, because Marmalade is one of the sweetest and happiest dogs at the shelter. She stays quiet in her kennel. Most of the time, she simply stands at her door and watches people walk by, almost as if she is praying that one of them will stop and finally notice her. But nobody ever does. Today, Marmalade is telling her story, and I truly believe that somewhere out there is the person who will watch this video and realize that Marmalade is the dog they have been looking for all along.
