Hook
I don't know if anyone's had to deal with the painful decision to have to put their dogs down but I had to do it twice. I did it last September and then five weeks later I had to do it again. So we had a chocolate lab, he was almost 15 years old. We had to put him down. It was awful. Probably I can't tell you how awful it was. And then our golden retriever passed away five weeks later and had to make that same decision. And we had someone come to our house to do it, which if you're able to make that decision, having a service like that come to your house to do it, definitely worth doing. We said for a while we weren't gonna get any more dogs. We wanted to take a break. And honestly, like I couldn't take the silence anymore. I needed to just, I just couldn't take it. It felt off, the house felt really quiet and we just had to. So we got Rosie, New Year's Eve and then decided she needed a companion. A week ago. We've had her for one week. The improvement of her behavior, my Rosie has been so much better. Now that she has a companion. It makes you miss my other dogs even more. But I also realized like I don't feel like I appreciated them as much. I think we were really young, we were in our mid-20s when we got our dogs and then we had kids and it was just a lot. There was a lot going on. Being that age and then we had babies and now I just, I don't know. I look at these dogs differently. The way I was with our first two. I know I can't change it, but anyway, it's hard.
